Have you heard of socmephobia? Yes, it’s a real word meaning a fear of social media. Socmephobes are people who don’t want anything to do with social media. They titter at Twitter, brush off blogs, and view Facebook primarily as a means to share recipes and vacation photos. Such individuals generally dismiss the whole “social media thing” as frivolous, a trend unworthy of serious consideration.

Of course, they do so at their own peril. Social media is here to stay, and avoiding it is a surefire way to get left behind.

But help is here! Our April chapter event will help socmephobes and experienced users alike get more out of social media than you may have ever imagined. In this informative and interactive program, participants will be introduced to the basics of social media for the purposes of training, learning, and networking.
